Companies can act on climate in several ways: by reducing their own operative emissions, by providing products or services that help consumers reduce their emissions, or by supporting their employees in becoming climate ambassadors. The Finnish energy company Neste is acting on all three fronts, most recently by arranging a Climate Week for their employees between the 18th to 23rd of November. Spark Sustainability partnered up with Neste to create fact-filled and inspirational content for the campaign.
The purpose of the Climate Week was to empower Neste employees around the globe to make more climate-friendly choices in everyday life. Spark Sustainability created five short educational and inspirational posts with different topics for each day of the week, from commuting to office habits. The challenge was to create content that would be relevant for all employees, regardless of whether they are situated in Finland, Singapore or USA.
According to Neste’s Elina Lammintausta, Brand marketing, Spark Sustainability was the first name that came to mind when her team started thinking about possible partners.

For Spark Sustainability, supporting Neste on this was a no-brainer. Sustainability can only become the core of a company if the people act and think sustainably, and empowering people to take action in their everyday lives, be it at home or in the office, is something we are always happy to support. On top of that, we were eager to work with a company that over the past ten years has transformed from a regional oil refining company into a global leader in renewable fuels, and who’s North Star is to create a healthier planet for our children.
